Christmas Message

As we come to the end of this first term, we can look back with all the blessings we have had. The feast days we have celebrated in our forms, the Rewards days we have had and our Year 7 becoming very much part of our family during these weeks. In November we had our Diocese Inspection, and the team captured the spirit of our school so well; they could easily see that our students wish to be faithful to Christ in everything they do. They called the school a beacon of hope within the community, and I really hope we do offer that support, certainly Ana is working hard producing our hampers and staff fundraising for Advent calendars and presents. The Christmas Fair was an amazing success, and I want to thank everyone for supporting us with that especially as all the money raised goes back to support our students.

In January, there will be mocks for Year 11 and Year 13 and it is encouraging seeing so many of them attending revision sessions and talking about all the studying they are doing at home. I know it seems like the notes, the flashcards and the constant discussion about exams will never end, but it will and before you know it, it will be that very long summer and dark nights will be a distant memory. Work hard and know that we are here to support you.

Another proud moment is our success with our Progress 8 score this year as we came top in Chester and Cheshire West for the most improved score. We couldn’t do it without support from our families and so many families are behind us and recognise that all we hope to do as a school is to offer the best chances for all our students. We all went into education to deliver opportunities for all young people and it’s great that so many families recognise our vocation and what it means to us- so for that I say thank you.

We wish everyone a very restful Christmas and a chance to make memories with loved ones. Please have peace in your heart as we say hello to 2025.

God bless,

The Catholic High School
